This is a roleplay journal where justice is attempted to be done to Fakir of Ito Ikuto's excellent series Princess Tutu. The player does not own him, the series, necessarily condone anything Fakir is assumed to say or do, and is making no profit from this.

The Ink-Stained Knight

The StoryFakir was a pretty cheerful, bright, ~~adorable~~ kid. He especially enjoyed creating stories.
Sometimes his stories came true.
Then Gold Crown Town was attacked by an enormous flock of ravens, ravens that swarmed anything and anyone, even killing them. So Fakir decided to help. He wrote a story in which he fought and defeated the ravens. He didn't expect a mass of ravens to attack his home because of it. They did. His parents died in front of him, protecting him to the end.
Fakir stopped being cheerful very often after that.

He was taken in by his neighbor Charon. Charon gave the boy a new hold on life by telling him that his birthmarks showed that he was the reincarnation of the noble knight that served the Prince of story.
Then Fakir actually found the Prince, lost, weak, and fighting off ravens. He took him home to Charon, named him Mytho because the Prince could not remember his name, and took on the role of his guide and protector.

As time went on, it became clear that Mytho was pretty much suicidal in his efforts to save weak creatures. The boy would risk being burned to death in order to save a bird. Fakir began to become very strict with Mytho, first in efforts to protect the Prince's life, and eventually to protect him from any harm. Which also meant any growth. He only very reluctantly allowed the girl Rue, who adored Mytho (and knew who he truly was) some time with Mytho.
And as time went on, Fakir also discovered the ultimate fate of the knight. In the Prince's battle with the Monster Raven, he was casually killed without accomplishing a thing. A useless knight. A doomed one.
Fakir didn't want to die.

Then Mytho started changing permanently. Because Princess Tutu had appeared, and was restoring his heart, restoring him to himself and his story. All sorts of people could die if the story occurred again. He was determined to stop Princess Tutu.

What he took a little while to find out was that she had been right under him, the clumsy girl who tried too hard to get close to Mytho, Ahiru.
And it was only a while after that that he discovered that the duck he had been seeing around campus, the duck he had grown rather fond of, was her as well.

Fakir and Ahiru were forced to work together against their common enemy, Rue's previously hidden identity, the Crow Princess Kraehe, daughter of the Monster Raven. Slowly, Fakir began to admit that maybe she did deserve some respect, and that...she was right.
He became her knight as well.

When Mytho was poisoned by the blood of the Monster Raven, Fakir and Ahiru worked even more closely, trying to find ways to save Mytho while also keeping him from doing any damage.

But the only way to really help Mytho was to change the whole story they lived in, to fight its creator Drosselmeyer with his own power. Fakir had to write again. And with Ahiru there to inspire him to move forward, he could.

The Monster Raven was defeated. Drosselmeyer was thwarted. He and his influence left the town completely. Mytho, actually Prince Siegfried, returned to his rightful place with the Princess who loved him completely, Rue. And Ahiru was just a duck once more.

But maybe Fakir could change that.

Fakir was living with Ahiru the duck and developing his skills as a storyspinner a year after the defeat of the Raven, when he received a letter. He didn't trust it, and disregarded it. However, Mokona did not disregard him. Now both he and Ahiru are at the University, where Ahiru has been given human form once more.

DedicationsAhiru-Is the most important person in Fakir's life. She inspires him, calms him, and makes him happy. He loves her. Whether he will ever actually admit this is unclear at this point.
